Download NowName your own price

An all-in-one tool for creating Love2D game. All you need to do is to download this IDE and... that's it, you don't need to download any additional file. What does this IDE do:

- Project Organize: Every Love2D projects is in the project list. You just need to create project once and the next time you come, just choose a project you want to work on.

-  Code Editor: Simple UI to use, and play test the game with only one button.

- Export with one button: You don't need to do ton of works from zip your file, download additional file, pack it again and more stuffs to do. With this IDE, all you need to do is to press a button, and it will automatically export to Windows, MacOS and .love file. (This is built on top of boon by camchenry. Thank you for making this amazing tool. Link to github: GitHub - camchenry/boon: A cross-platform build tool for LÖVE)

Things that this IDE still not supported (yet):

- No auto-complete: This is quite hard to make, and I'm not yet quite figure out how.

- No live changing in directory: If you move other file into the folder, you need to press the refresh button to see the change.

This is exactly what I was looking for! Coming from game engines like Godot, IDEs and all the plugins needed were confusing me. Thank you so much I love it!

(+2)

Is this IDE open-sourced? I might be able to help with the auto-completion.

(+1)

nice

The latest Godot version has a flat modern style in its built-in game UI. Does this IDE still have the old UI or the screenshots are old?

For this IDE, I still use Godot 3 for this as when I port to Godot 4, the IDE is broken, so yes, this IDE still have the old UI

Ok

I'm not really sure what do you mean by that. Can you explain more?

Oh, you mean the autocompletion? It's kinda hard to implement, and I'm not really figure out how to do that so really sorry about that. 😓

If you export the game to .exe file, sure, you can put that to itch.io. I didn't put any games on gamejolt so I cannot say for sure.

But if you want to export to html, I'm afraid I cannot help you with that, but I do know a page that can help you though:

LÖVE Web Builder · Home (schellingb.github.io)

I haven't tried it before, but you can try it out to see if it works for you!

Hope this help!

Hi. This looks great, but I'd like a Mac version if possible. I do have a gaming PC that I use for tinkering in Unity and Unreal, but I prefer to use my MacBook when it comes to lightweight game dev with LÖVE as I can do it anywhere then :)

I see you use Godot to build the app, my other favourite game dev tool. Any chance you can export to MacOS please? I can help with that and test it for you if you like.

I've tinkering with export to mac for a while, but mac is quite hard to automate export and work with low level, plus I don't have a mac to test to make it possible (I borrowed my friend's mac before to try to). So really sorry for that 😅

Hey, for some reason it's not exporting my game. It says

'C:/Users/(My Name)/Downloads/Love2d_IDE' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

operable program or batch file.
When i do.

Hi, may I ask when did you download the IDE please? If it's about 4 to 5 months ago, can you download the newer version to see if it was fixed?

(1 edit)

That error happened on the latest one.

Hi, I've uploaded 2 new Windows versions. Can you check that out please? I think it can fix the problem for you!

Works now, well done!

When I change the characteristics of the window of the game (if it's resizable, full screen...) they don't change.

Hi, may I ask if you've written it in conf.lua file? Or can you tell me more about your problems please?

this is extremely convenient, i rather use this than vscode

(+1)

i cant express how much i love the export feature and how convenient it is

Thank you very much for your kind words!! Really glad that this project can help you in your workflow ^^

Not bad:
1) If the project path have a space symbol so the project can't run at all.
2) It would be nice to have "Reset / Clear" button for debug window to Clear all debug text.

Thank you very much for trying it out, and thank you very much for the feedback. I'll check and fix the problem asap.

10/10 Amazing ide, all works very fast, colors are great, very lightweight, and although in its early stages its amazing and although I love Zerobrane this makes development so easy and quick! Tysm for the great ide I think you did amazing!

This looks so cool, I had never seen an IDE made for a game framework until now

Well Done

Did you make it using LOVE2D?

(+1)

I've tried to make it in Love2D before, but man that was hard. So for this project, I created it in Godot, as Godot have a ton of UI nodes out of the box, so I can create the software way faster this way.

I got to say that I love both Love2D and Godot, and I also glad to put both of them together like this.  And thanks a lot for checking this software out. I've created it with my passion so really glad that many people like it as well 😊😊😊

my pc is really old and it lags a lot while using vs code so this will be really helpful, thanks!

Thank you a lot for trying it. Glad it can help you. If there's any problems, please tell me, and I'll try my best to help you.

it not working, run not working, export not work

Sorry for my late reply, can you tell me more about your errors? Were you using Windows? If so, did you move the .exe file to somewhere else? Or are there any chances that you delete any file in the folder?

(+1)

Having the same issue, did not move the exe nor deleted anyfile. When trying to run the game I get:

Debug: 'C:/Users/alostork/Downloads/Love2d_IDE' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

operable program or batch file.

Hi, I'm so sorry for the inconvenient!

For the problem, can you show me the path to your game project please? I really want to see if there might be a problem there!

Hi, I just did a fix on it, can you check it out please? If you still had a problem, please let me know!

would be very cool to have a map editor in it, even cooler if you could spawn entities and edit its values and colliders and stuff. That might make it a liltle bit opinionated but it would be a good reason to use it.

Hi, sorry for my late reply, but glad that you check this out. For now, I don't have plan to build with a map editor with other stuffs, as Love2D now works really well with Tiled using sti library. Anyway, thank you very much for your feedback.

Maybe add a TileD launcher from the command list? So it's easy to launch while working on your game.

This one seems like a good idea! I'll try this one out!

awesome!!!!!!!

Love gets no love :( Wish more people would hop onto it

Thank you very much for your kind words!

Löve2D a good engine and you have an interesting tool, but due to technical limitations I can’t test it (I have Win7 x32), but thanks for the work)

(+1)

Thank you so much for your kind words, but can you tell me more about the problem you have faced? (I'll try to figure out the way to fix your problem)

Most likely your project is compiled for x64 system. There are no system requirements in the description of your program. I drew conclusions based on the errors on my PC

(+2)

Hi, thank you very much for your feedback! I've created a 32-bit version of it. Hope you can try it out now!

I did not expect a quick answer and a solution, thank you very much)

Finally, an ide for löve.

Löve this.

Thank you so much for trying it out. This is still in a testing phase, but I will update of it in the future soon.
